Orbit In

With Palm Springs’ stature as the hot modernist’s haven, it’s been getting difficult to find empty hotel rooms. But the new kid in town is the Orbit In, a hotel originally built in 1957 that has been beautifully restored and furnished with modern classics from Noguchi, Bertoia and Nelson. The best rooms are those with the private patios and wet bars-must haves in the desert heat. Situated in the heart of the town’s old village, you’re never far from a night on the town. But given that there are only ten rooms, Orbit In isn’t going to put a very big dent in the hotel occupancy problem.
