For pure retro hip, hit the Orbit In (877-996-7248), a boutique hotel with furnishings by Noguchi and Eames. Rates in February start at about $219, and the hotel also offers the true old-school Palm Springs ritual: cocktail hour by the pool for guests, featuring free Orbitinis (a martini made with sake). After all, you can’t truly embrace the spirit of Palm Springs without indulging in a little drink.
